Anne given new title that once belonged to Prince Philip

Anne, Princess Royal has taken on a new role that once belonged to her late father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Princess Anne has agreed to become the President of the In & Out Naval Military Club, a private members-only club which was founded in 1862 for officers of the Navy and Army in the UK.
According to Hello!, a letter sent to members of the club confirmed Anne had been bestowed the new role, which will be for a three-year period.

“Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal has kindly agreed to assume the role of President of the In & Out Club for an initial period of 3 years, with immediate effect,” the letter read.
Prince Philip once held this role from 1979 until his death in 2021. He was a member of the club since 1947.
“Members will recall that our first president, HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh passed away on 9th April 2021 having been a member since 1947 and President since 1979,” the letter continued.

“It is a great honour for the Club to have a second Royal President, and we are very privileged that Her Royal Highness has accepted our invitation, especially considering her existing commitments.”
The club was once reserved only for members of the navy and military, however now includes those who have not served in the armed forces.
Anne, while she has never served in the military or navy in an official capacity, has several military titles to her name.
As part of her role as high-ranking member of the British monarchy, Anne is a General in the British Army, a Chief Commandant, Women’s Royal Naval Service, an Admiral and an Air Chief Marshal.
